JAY JAKOBS,

Grief Care Services

Jay Jakobs has spent much of his life and career working with people through some of life's most difficult circumstances. This includes youth in custody (working 11 years with Ray of Hope Youth Justice and Addictions Services), providing spiritual care to different communities (within the Free Methodist and Mennonite church), as well as providing grief support and counselling to teens, adults and seniors who have experienced different types of loss (including a placement at Parkwood Seniors Community). Jay will provide you with a comfortable and compassionate setting where you will be able to mourn your loss as you process and navigate your grief experience.

Jay has a Masters in Theological Studies with a concentration in Thanatology (the study of grief, bereavement, death, and dying, including the needs of the terminally ill and their families), and is a Certified Thanatologist Pastoral Specialist. As a grief and end of life Spiritual Care Specialist, Jay provides grief counselling and support for individuals and couples, as well as grief support for groups and businesses that have suffered loss.
