Interfaith Counselling and Carizon expanding partnership

Interfaith Counselling Centre and Carizon Family and Community Services will be sharing some resources to better serve the community.

The Board of Directors at both Interfaith and Carizon have been looking at ways they can better share internal resources and specializations to address current needs.

Carizon will be implementing a common client management system that Interfaith has been using for the past decade.

Meantime, Interfaith wants to provide mental health supports for professionals working in the field, so both agencies will work together to expand their trauma treatment services.

Carizon's Director of Counselling will also be taking maternity leave at the end of April, so Interfaith's Executive Director, Lisa Akey will also take on that role for the next 13 months.

"In this capacity, Lisa will bring a wealth of counselling knowledge and also provide strong leadership to the implementation of the new client database at Carizon," Holly Harkins-Manning, chair of the Board of Directors, said in a release.
